At CrossFit Hanover, we’ve worked with hundreds of athletes over the past several years. Our programming has evolved so much as we constantly strive to expand our knowledge and understanding of the human body. Over the past few years, we’ve learned a few key points:
Athletes who work in groups usually work harder than when working 1-on-1 with a trainer. We’ve trained nearly 500 athletes in a group setting over the years. Every group has leaders, every group has followers. But all work together to achieve common goals. Our team camps are extremely popular for this reason.
Parents and Coaches are more concerned with preventing injury than achieving elite levels of performance. The best athletes on the field and those who have the longest careers in their sports are the ones who develop balanced musculature around their knees, hips, and shoulders. Staying injury free at an intense level of play requires adequate strength. Our programming is based on a foundation of strength training, which we take very seriously. Our athletes learn to squat, deadlift, press, and clean properly. Always have, always will.
Sometimes a program like ours isn’t enough. That’s why we’ve teamed up with Wellspan Health to provide pre-participation screenings using Move2Perform (link to www.move2perform.com), a program designed to determine risk for injury during athletic participation. Each athlete in our sports performance program is required to be screened prior to participation; those who are in a high risk category for injury are referred to Wellspan Health’s injury prevention program to help eliminate risk for injury and to allow us to more effectively assist in developing performance levels of fitness.
We offer individual training, small group camps, and team camps for athletes of all ages and ability levels who wish to improve performance in sport. Our most popular program, CFH’s team camps, are offered at a discounted rate to teams of 10 or more athletes who wish to participate together.
